Bodog Mini Poker Series to Award a 2011 WSOP Seat!

2010 Bodog Mini Poker SeriesTime to rev up your poker prowess and get ready for the 2010 Bodog Mini Poker Series! This year the Bodog Mini Poker Series is a run of 17 events with a total guaranteed prize pool of $40,000!

In addition to the big cash prize pools of the events, if you finish 1st in any event, you will earn a seat in the Bodog Mini Poker Series Main Event on Thursday July 22, 2010 at 8:35 PM eastern.

Winning the Bodog Mini Poker Series Main Event will give you a 2011 $12,000 WSOP* Main Event prize package! Second and third place pays out your buy-in to every event in the fall 2010 Bodog Poker Open (BPOV). While 4th through 9th place will each be awarded the buy in to the Sunday 100k Guaranteed (t $162)!

Every tournament in the Bodog Mini Poker Series has a guaranteed prize pool and as usual, every game will be Texas Hold’em. The events vary in blind structure as well. You will play no limit, pot limit, fixed limit, freezeouts, rebuy, short handed, turbo and super turbo events. Most games (except Saturday games) will start at 8:35 pm eastern the two Saturday tournaments are scheduled for 4:35 pm eastern.

All events in the Bodog Mini Poker Series have a low $10 (+ 1) buy in and you can also win a seat to any of the events by competing in the twice daily satellites that have five seats guaranteed.

In addition to the regular prizing in the events, as in years past, Bodog will maintain a leaderboad for the series. The top 30 players in each game will earn points to determine leader board standing. The top 10 players on the leader board will earn entry into the Mini Poker Series Final Freeroll and places 11 through 50 earn a seat in the Mini Poker Series semi-final freeroll.   • Play in ALL 13 qualifying events
  • Be one of the top 18 players in the Mini Series Semifinal.

David Williams Victorious at the WPT World Championship!

David Williams Wins the WPT!The drought is over for poker professional David Williams! Williams won the WPT World Championship at the Bellagio Casino with pocket deuces, beating Eric Baldwin’s pair of aces by getting a third two on the turn!

This marks the first WPT win for David after being runner-up at the Borgata Poker Open in Season III and finishing 4th in both the Bay 101 in Season IV and the Mirage Poker Showdown in Season V. The win was worth a $1.5 million payday for David! "It’s pretty awesome to have my first one be the biggest one," Williams said.

I am sure the win will be a great confidence builder and coming just a few short months away from the 2010 World Series, I would make David a favorite to earn another WSOP bracelet. He won his first bracelet in the $1,500 7-Card Stud event. And had a Main Event finish in second place, losing to poker pro Greg “Fossilman” Raymer.
